Coming up in the month of October is a new Campus Activities Team (CAT) event called Happy Fall Y’all. The event will be taking place on October 12, 2011 on the Centennial Center Lawn and Patio from 5:00-8:00 PM. The event is open to all RSU students, faculty, and staff. Darcy Roach, the Fun and Games Chair for CAT, describes Happy Fall Y’all as a, “carnival celebrating fall.” There will be a wide variety of fun activities and games like a maze, ghost stories, a cakewalk, a pumpkin carving contest, hayrides, face painting, Scarecrow Races, Apple Tree Bobbing, Balloon Darts, and Putt-Putt golf. There will also be everyone’s favorite carnival foods like funnel cakes, cotton candy, popcorn, hot chocolate, cider, and Pepsi® products to drink.
These activities will be on a ticket system. There will be no charge for the tickets. Tickets will be given out at some of the games, such as the Scarecrow Races, Apple Tree Bobbing, Balloon Darts, Putt-Putt, and in designated portions of the maze. Participants will need these tickets to participate in other parts of the maze, the ghost stories, the cakewalk, pumpkin carving contest, hayrides, and face painting. These tickets will also be needed when getting any food or drinks.
The pumpkin carving contest will be from 5:00-7:00 PM. Only the first 12 individuals to arrive and sign up will be able to participate, so be sure and arrive early if you want to show off your pumpkin carving skills. Judging for the contest will be from 7:00-8:00 PM.
On behalf of CAT, Roach had this to say about Happy Fall Y’all:
“Happy Fall Y’all is going to be so much fun, not only for students but for faculty and staff as well. There is nothing CAT loves more than creating events like this one that brings the entire RSU family together with fun for all ages.”
Be sure to come and bring your friends on October 12, 2011 on the Centennial Center Lawn and Patio from 5:00-8:00 PM for a fun-filled evening to celebrate the coming of the fall season!
